A Bus, A Trolley, and A Boat

Since our last month of preschool was on transportation, we decided to take a transportation field trip. We started by taking the bus.

Then we took the trolley. (This was all the kids favorite of the day)

Then it was off to the boats. What a fun day it was

This was graduation. We had little certificates for them and I made the hats from construction paper and black foam board.

One Pretty Easter Basket!

All ready for Easter Sunday!

 Makena's Basket
Chris' Basket. Yes I still like to make a basket for him and he likes the candy!
We had terrible weather that day, so the egg hunt was held indoors.

School Rules!

Some friends and I had kiddos whose birthdays all fell after the cut off day for pre-k, so we decided to start a preschool co-op. Each of us would each teach for one week a month.  I didn't get pictures of each class, but I did remember to take a few.  The first ones were from Chinese New Year.

 On parade!
 Rainbows, Rainbows and more Rainbows!
We painted bread with colored milk and then toasted it in the oven.

Rainbow pancakes for lunch. These were so fun to make!

Our week on transportation. Buses made from graham crackers, chex cereal, and mini Oreo's.
Airplanes made from banana's, apples, and raisins. Yeah, they look a little strange, but the kids loved them.

Weekend of Romance!

Since last weekend was our kid weekend, this weekend we decided to have it be just the two of us. I had taken Makena to Chris' parents in St. George and spent the week there. His mom was going to keep Makena for us so that we could have some time together. Since we don't live close to any family, this would be the first weekend since we had Makena that we would get this opportunity.  When I went to pick up Chris from the base, we were able to meet up with a friend that works maintenance on the B-2 Bomber. We even got to go sit in the cockpit for a while. Chris was super excited and couldn't wait to tell all the guys at work. (Thanks Ben)

Our first night we went to "The tournament of kings" at the Excalibur.

Saturday morning we met one of my old roommates for breakfast. Then we went to the temple for the afternoon. That night we went to see the "Phantom of the Opera". It was by far the best show we went to that weekend. After the show, we decided to hit Fremont St. since we had already walked the strip a few times.

We were so glad we came to Fremont because we found this guy who made these amazing paintings. We had this one made, since we were staying at the Bellagio.  This was done using spray paint and torn pieces of cardstock. It was seriously amazing to watch him work.
 The fountains from our room.

I have always loved the Bellagio gardens. This week it was a Holland theme. It is truly amazing to see what they can do with flowers.

 This picture was all flowers.

The bee was also made of flowers as well!

Circus Circus!

Our first weekend in Vegas was our kid weekend. We stayed at Circus Circus.
Our first night walking on the strip, Makena was able to find 2 of her favorite characters.
Then it was off to M&M world

The next day at the Circus Circus dome! She rode every ride she could. Some of them many times!

Frog Hopper was her absolute favorite!! We stopped counting how many times she rode this one.

After a while, Makena wanted to go back to the Frog Hopper. She met a friend and they rode it over and over and over again. One time there was enough kids that they actually had to wait a turn to get on. This is what waiting looks like!! It was hilarious just how bummed out they were.

On our way out, we of course had to stop and get some cotton candy.
