Hula Dances And More!

Makena was so excited when the trees started blooming. These were her favorites!!!! She called them Hula Dances!!!! And of course, these were popcorn trees. This is our front yard. She would get so excited to go outside so that she could see her popcorn tree. These trees are everywhere here and so you can guess how many times this spring we sang "Popcorn Popping"

Since Chris has been gone, I enlisted the sister missionaries help in painting. This is Makenas Tinkerbell room. This is only the start. Eventually I will get all the stenciling done I want. I just have to make them. Makena was thrilled to help paint.
They also helped me get the spare bathroom painted. Pictures to come on that one. Because it has just been Makena and I, we have had to figure out more things to do. I got really tired of cutting out the same shapes over and over again with Play-Doh so we went and found some more toys. We have been having a blast making all sorts of goodies! My friend Jamie came over with her kiddos and we got to color eggs. Didn't get pictures of the kids like I meant to, guess I was too worried trying to keep the kids from making to big a mess. After the kids dyed them, the moms got crafty with the glitter and the foil. I had a blast! My friend Melanie and her daughter Annabelle came to stay a night with us as they drove through. Makena was so excited when she saw that she had the same pj's as her. Thanks grandma!

Happy Easter!!!

Happy Easter Everyone!! Here was her basket this year. Wal-Mart had these cute baskets to go with Easter dresses.
It rained all day on Easter so we ran out really quick to at least get a picture.
We did not do an Easter egg hunt because it rained all day.

For this one, we ran out took the picture then ran back in!

So I took a few inside just to have a couple.

(Besides her hair took a while to do and I wanted pictures.)

Check out these adorable bows my mom made to go with her dress!!

At least she was not completely deprived of egg hunting. Our playgroup got together and did a small one. It was to rain that day as well but ended up just being a bit chilly.

Overall it was a great Easter, even though we missed Daddy being with us!

Childrens Museum!

I know most of the pictures I post lately are from our playgroup. This is about the only time I get out the camera right now. I am amazed how hard it is to be a single parent and my amazement goes to those who are. I only do it doing deployments, but it is more than enough for me. I never wanted to be a single mom, but that is what military life has brought. Ok, I'm getting off soapbox. We were able to go to this adorable children's museum. It is about an hour away from us, but was totally worth the price of gas. They had soooooo many things for them to do. We were there most of the day and still did not get to everything they have to offer.

Here was a little dinosaur bone area. The kids could use all of the tools to pretend to dig up bones. They had this little airplane to ride. Makena loved it.
They all spent so much time in this old car. It was just adorable to watch!
And of course, Makena is no stranger to sitting in a cockpit. It is her favorite place when we go to air shows.
Here they got to pretend to be on TV doing the weather. They had cameras up on the other side of the room so they could watch themselves. What kid doesn't like to see them self on TV?
Then there was a mini supermarket for them to go shopping. There was small carts and all types of food to buy. After they were done shopping they took their item to the checkout where they put all of their things of the counter and then with the help of a worker, they checked themselves out. It was so adorable.
There was this huge slide that even the parents could go in. We both had lots of fun with this one.
They anxiously waited for their turn to ride on this little train that took them around the property.
This had to be one of my favorites. You stand in the middle and pull down the rope. Then you get covered in bubble!!!! Toooo Much Fun! We all loved this one.
Just thought this was a cute quote as we left. This place was amazing and so much fun. And like I said earlier this was only a few of the things. We will have to go back to see and do more.

Take A Trip On Route 66!

For our playgroup we have every week, we took a little trip to route 66. There is a cute little place called POPS! It is a gas station, eatery, and they have tons of, you guessed it Pop! All different flavors and different brand and from all over.

Here is all our little cuties! Love these kids!

When I put this shirt on Makena, I told her what it said and told her she was Irish. It was hilarious, she got soooooooo upset. She said, "Momma I'm not Irish, I'm Makena"

Thanksgiving in Utah

This Thanksgiving we spent in Utah. It was the first time all of the kids had been together in years because of school, missions, and getting married and moving away.
Here are the grandkids!
Makena has been asking to go on a school bus for so long. She thinks she is big enough to go to school and should be riding a bus to school. I think she is growing fast enough as it is. Let's not speed things up anymore than we need to please! Well when we were in Utah, Makena's grandpa took her to go on a school bus. She was so excited!!!!
Afterwards she said, "but mom I didn't get to go to school" One day baby. One day.
She had also been waiting for the snow. We took her snow clothes in hopes of snow and she was so excited when the snow came. At this point we did not have any in Oklahoma.

And of course, Chris got to get together with all the boys and play some Football.

Once There Was A Snowman!

I know! I know! I have been MIA for a while now. I knew it would be a while, but I think because I was so far behind, I wasn't even trying to catch up. So here we go! We were part of that storm that just made it's way up through the Midwest. Makena was so excited!!!!! She has been waiting for the snow to come our way. She had a snow suit and really wanted to put it to good use. She has wanted to go outside to play everyday. We are out there for hours and frozen and she still does not want to come in. When it first snowed, the snow was to dry to build a snowman, but today when the sun came out, we were able to go outside and build.

Our first step out the front door. We had to go sideways because the wind had blown a 3ft. drift in front of the door.
She really is a snow baby. Must have been the first couple years in Logan.
Chris was showing off the drift in front of the garage.
It was almost as tall as Makena. She loved it!
Dad and Makena chillin' on the snow bank!

I will try to add many more pictures in the next few weeks and catch up!
