Finally The Princess Party Is Here!

Makena has been so excited to turn three. She has been asking for a princess party for months. She wanted a cake and everyone to sing to her. She has been singing "Happy Birthday Makena" just to get in the mood. We were at Target the other day and they have new dress up clothes. She saw this dress and said, "Momma, this is my dress for my princess party" How could I refuse?

I had fun decorating for the party. I really wanted her to be excited to see all the princess decor. She loved it.

I love the blog "The story of a princess and her hair" here is the link. http://www.princesshairstyles.com/ I found this adorable hair style and then we went shopping for ribbon. I thought this was a good picture to show the style.

Makena has been asking for a bike for quite some time. We thought now was a good day to get a princess bike.

She had so much fun opening all her presents and being with all of her friends. If she could have it her way, she would have a party everyday.

I looked all over for a princess cake I liked. Most of them just looked scary. Then a friend to me to a bakery here in town. I saw these adorable party cakes and then found the cake topper. I was so impressed with the cake they did a great job. Thanks Nola!

Here are some pictures of all the princesses eating and having a great time.

When the girls first got to the party they could each decorate their own tiara. (So they had time to dry) Then at the end we took pictures of all of them. They were so fun to watch as they each put on their own special touch.
Thanks girls for coming. You made all Makena's dreams come true!

Scrappin' Crazy

So I decided to start a scrapbook blog with the layouts I have been making. First of all because I am always looking for new layout ideas and cannot always find them (so I thought I would contribute). Second, I wanted to share my layouts with the fam because we are always so far away. And thirdly, because I wanted it to be public and my family blog is not. So if you are into scrappin' you can check it out and if not well you have not wasted anytime going through the layouts I have made recently.

Caution:It is a work in progress!!

Just Click on the pic under my scrappin' blog to the right. Enjoy

Super Kena!

The other night, Makena put a pair of shorts on her shoulders and ran around saying "Super Kena". We don't know how she came up with it, but it was adorable. I did not get any pictures because it did not last long. The next night she wanted her blanket tied around her shoulders and did the same thing. This time I had camera in hand.

Sesame Street Comes To Town!

Today we had the chance to go to see Sesame Street. They brought a show to the base and was even free for all DOD(department of defense) members. Of course we had to put Makena in her newest Elmo clothes. When we got there they had these cool Elmo toys for all the kids. I expected to have to buy it, but did not. Thanks USO for the show!

Day at the OK Zoo!

Yesterday we went to the OK Zoo. Makena has been asking to go see the animals since we got here. I had taken her in San Antonio right before we moved here, but she loves seeing them. So off we went. It was very hot and so many of the animals were no shows, but there were many animal statues to take pictures with.

This is the Red Panda. Our favorite for the day.

This gorilla was right behind the glass and was being very protective of the baby. He seemed very curious of the kids who were having fun being so close.

Makena made a friend at the zoo. She has been so kid deprived lately and so sad that she lost all her friends in Texas. They would not leave each other even though we tried, and so by the end they were taking pictures (in the little picture booth) and all. They cried when they had to leave. But we exchanged numbers and will hopefully get together to play soon.

Day at the Sprayground

In Oklahoma. they have what are called sprayground. They are near many playground and run throughout the summer.
We just started a playgroup in our new ward. I was surprised that there was not a playgroup already set up, but I need to get out and Makena needs other kids to play with. This was our first activity. I had heard of these spraygrouds and thought it would be a fun place to meet. We had so much fun.

This was my favorite picture. I am usually 2 seconds late on the cute pictures, but I got this one just in time. Aren't they adorable?
